Date: Thursday, 19 December 2019

Time: 13:00-14:30

On Thursday, 19 December 2019 the 1st interaction on the subject of ‘Identifying Uncertainties in Historical Recipes’ took place in Vienna, Austria, implemented in the context of the interdisciplinary PROVIDEDH project (PROgressive VIsual Decision-Making in Digital Humanities), organised by the project partners from the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage (ACDH-CH), Austrian Academy of Sciences

The interaction involved a first introduction to the PROVIDEDH project, main actors and main aims, and an introduction to the historical recipe collection from our collaboration partner, Marlene Ernst (Centre for Gastrosophie, History Department, University of Salzburg). The interaction resulted in the development of the use-case “Cultural non-fictional resources and antidisciplinary knowledge-creation: recipes” including definition of main aims, specification of requirements as well as transferring the use case into a citizen – science – experiment in jointly winning one citizen science award 2020 with the project “recipe_revival @ PROVIDEDH”. The interaction opened up the innovation process beyond the boundaries of the international PROVIDEDH research group towards 1) a gastrosophical, anthropological research group – 2) a citizen scientists community . It furthermore embeds the case study into the Open Innovation demonstrator “future food” run in the Open Innovation Research Infrastructure at exploration space, recently mainly nutritioned by the projects exploreAT!, ChIA and PROVIDEDH.
